Construction of ENNA Group’s large solar power plant in Romania is in full swing!
Bucharest, March 12, 2026 - Representatives of ENNA Group, led by CEO Boštjan Napast, visited the construction site of ENNA Group’s future solar power plant in Romania.
The standalone solar power plant, with an installed capacity of 87.5 MWp, is being built at the Mihăilești location, about 25 kilometers southwest of Bucharest, and will cover an area of 93 hectares.
The project also includes a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a power capacity of 70 MW and a storage capacity of 140 MWh. The total investment in the solar plant and the BESS exceeds €80 million and represents ENNA Group’s first major investment outside Croatia.
Construction works are currently underway on access and internal roads, as well as on a storage area, while pile driving is being carried out in the southern section of the site to support the structure for the solar panels. Work on the perimeter fencing is currently being carried out along the entire boundary of the project.
Three access roads are being built from the north, south, and west, with a total length of 2,120 meters, along with internal project roads totaling more than 4 kilometers.
In the initial phase, the focus is on the southern section of the future photovoltaic park, where the site office, storage areas, and temporary facilities are located. After that, the main construction site organization will be established in the northern part of the location. At this stage, around 40 workers from the contractors - Romanian companies ENEVO Group and Ostenweg - are working on site.
Construction of the solar power plant began in December 2025, following the signing of the EPC contract in November of the same year between PVP Cepheus, owned by ENNA Solar, and ENEVO Group.
Under the EPC contract, ENEVO Group has assumed responsibility for the entire project implementation process, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), with the project being delivered on a “turnkey” basis.
The international verification and inspection company Bureau Veritas is responsible for professional supervision in accordance with FIDIC standards, inspection of equipment manufacturing and installation, and quality control throughout all project phases and during the warranty period.
The plant is expected to be commissioned for permanent operation and start delivering electricity to the grid in the first quarter of 2027.
The solar power project in Romania is being developed through a special purpose vehicle by ENNA Solar, which operates within the Energy division of ENNA Group and focuses on the development and investment in renewable energy power generation facilities.
