Ploče, September 15, 2025 – Due to congestion in the northern Adriatic ports, the container ship Contship Eco, carrying MAERSK containers destined for Serbia, unloaded its cargo for the first time at the port of Ploče. From there, ENNA Transport organized and successfully transported the cargo via an alternative route through Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A total of eight trains are planned for dispatch, each with 22 wagons, to the NELT terminal in Belgrade. Organizing and transporting trains on this route is very complex, as the train passes through multiple railway systems.
The train on the Ploče–Belgrade route must pass through Croatia, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republika Srpska, and then again through Croatia before finally entering Serbia. Due to differences in infrastructure and technical standards of the railway network in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this transport is very demanding.
The first train to depart for Belgrade was 456 meters long and weighed 1,434 tons. The dispatch of the first train to Belgrade marks the beginning of container rail traffic through Bosnia and Herzegovina.
ENNA Transport has been operating in Ploče since 2017, connecting the port daily with business entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, confirming its key role in regional logistics.
Congratulations to all colleagues at ENNA Transport who participated in organizing this complex and demanding process. Once again, they have demonstrated that ENNA Transport possesses the capabilities and resources to provide reliable service and high-quality alternatives whenever needed.
