Zagreb, June 10, 2025 – Ivana Meašić, Director of Enne Geo, appeared on Bloomberg Adria TV on Monday, June 9, 2025, where she spoke about geothermal power plant projects being developed by the ENNA Group.
She expressed concern about the continuation of the Zagocha geothermal power plant project in Čađavica near Slatina due to the failure of HROTE (Croatian Energy Market Operator) to announce a tender for the allocation of the market premium.
“We already have obtained the energy permit, we have a connection agreement, and all necessary documents, and we are waiting for the HROTE tender for the allocation of the market premium. This is currently the most advanced project in Croatia, and we are already somewhat concerned because we have been waiting for HROTE to announce the premium tender for geothermal quotas for a year and a half. I have already seen four different ministers, each of whom has supported geothermal energy, but if we want to have a geothermal power plant connected to the grid, HROTE urgently needs to announce the tender for geothermal quotas,” Meašić said.
She also added that investors initially finance the projects independently because banks do not support them in the early development phase due to high financial risks.
