Construction Begins on ENNA Group’s Solar Power Plant in Romania

Expected Annual Electricity Generation: 133 GWh

Date publishedDecember 18, 2025

Zagreb, 18 December 2025 - Construction has begun on ENNA Group’s solar power plant in Romania, at a site near Bucharest. With an installed capacity of 87.516 MWp, the plant represents ENNA Group’s first major investment outside Croatia.

Works commenced after an EPC contract was signed in November this year between PVP Cepheus, owned by ENNA Solar, and the Romanian ENEVO Group.

The Giurgiu solar power plant will be developed on a 93-hectare site in Mihăilești, located 25 kilometers southwest of Bucharest. The site is equivalent in size to approximately 130 football fields. The facility is projected to generate minimum 133 GWh of electricity annually. Commissioning and delivery of electricity to the grid are expected in the first quarter of 2027. The investment is valued at approximately EUR 60 million.

“We are extremely pleased to announce the start of works on our solar power plant just a few months after acquiring the project, which also confirms that we have chosen very reliable partners. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the tender process, which was intensive and extensive. With this investment, we are demonstrating our commitment to a ten-year business plan with planned investments of EUR 330 million in the construction of solar parks in Croatia and abroad,” said Boštjan Napast, President of the Management Board of ENNA Group.

Under the terms of the contract, the ENEVO Group assumes full responsibility for the entire project implementation process, encompassing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and commits to delivering the facility on a turnkey basis. ENEVO Group is a Romanian engineering and technology company specializing in energy, automation, and renewable energy solutions. Its expertise covers solar power plants, battery storage systems, and the digitalization of power infrastructure, delivering LSTK projects across multiple countries.

“Enevo proudly supports ENNA Group’s expansion into the Romanian renewable energy market through this strategic solar investment. The project highlights our expertise in executing complex EPC projects and our commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance energy infrastructure. We are fully dedicated to ensuring an efficient construction process and delivering a turnkey facility that will contribute to clean energy production in the region. We value this partnership and look forward to its successful completion”, said Radu Brașoveanu, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ENEVO Group.

For the purpose of project implementation, a contract has also been signed with Bureau Veritas, under which their team will provide professional supervision services in accordance with FIDIC standards, inspection supervision of equipment manufacturing and installation, and will be responsible for quality control throughout all phases of project implementation as well as during the warranty period.

The solar power plant project in Romania is being developed through a special purpose vehicle by ENNA Solar, which within ENNA Group’s Energy division focuses on the development of and investment in facilities for electricity generation from renewable energy sources. ENNA Group already has around 50 MW of completed renewable energy projects or projects at an advanced stage of development, as well as approximately 350 MW in various stages of development.
