Successful departure of the first train from Rijeka Gateway Terminal

Due to the closed track near Koprivnica, the train reached Budapest via Slovenia

Rijeka, September 17, 2025 – The first freight trains have been successfully dispatched from the Rijeka Gateway container terminal.

The Rijeka team of our ENNA Logic has successfully dispatched the first trains from the Rijeka Gateway container terminal! The first loadings from the container ship Al Jasrah were carried out, and the trains were dispatched to Budapest Mahart (MCC Terminal), Belgrade Nelt Group, and Belgrade ŽIT. Due to the closed railway line near Koprivnica, the route to Budapest was carried out via Slovenia.

After loading and unloading, the trains were transferred to the freight section of the Rijeka station with containers destined for Budapest and Belgrade.

The train from Rijeka to Budapest was dispatched with two locomotives, each pulling half of the composition. In Lokve, the two parts were coupled into a single train. This procedure is necessary because the Rijeka–Lokve section has the steepest gradient in Europe, and for safety and stability reasons, large trains are hauled in two parts.

Due to the closed railway line near Koprivnica, the train arrived in Budapest via Slovenia.

Congratulations to our colleagues from ENNA Logic on the successful dispatch of the first train from the Rijeka Gateway terminal!
Many thanks to all our partners for the excellent cooperation, and we look forward to future successes together!
