A Milestone in ENNA Group’s Regional Expansion
Date publishedOctober 26, 2026Zagreb, 26 October 2026 - The ENNA Group representatives, led by CEO Boštjan Napast, visited the construction site of the Mihăilești solar power plant in Romania to review progress across the project’s key construction segments.
Located approximately 25 kilometres southwest of Bucharest, the project comprises a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 87.5 MWp, a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a power output of 70 MW and a storage capacity of 140 MWh, and a 110/33 kV substation.
Construction of the solar power plant has reached 89% completion, with the main civil, mechanical and electrical works successfully completed. The project is now entering its final phase, focusing on testing, monitoring system integration and preparations for commissioning.
The 110/33 kV substation has reached 82% completion. The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the power transformer has been successfully completed, while preparations for its transportation and installation are underway.
Both the solar power plant and the substation are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Development of the battery energy storage system is progressing in parallel. The design phase has been completed, while civil works continue in line with the project schedule. Delivery of the equipment is expected in December 2026, with completion and commissioning of the BESS scheduled for early 2027.
By combining solar generation with large-scale battery storage, the project will integrate renewable electricity production with the ability to store energy and make it available when needed. This combination supports more flexible energy management and the integration of renewable sources into the power system.
The project’s commercial operation date is targeted for April 2027.
Mihăilești represents an important step in ENNA Group’s international expansion and the development of its energy business across Central and South-Eastern Europe. The project reflects the Group’s approach to energy infrastructure, bringing together renewable generation, battery storage and grid infrastructure within a single investment.
It also builds on ENNA Group’s growing presence in Romania, where the Group is developing a portfolio of renewable energy projects. Through investments in solar power and energy storage, ENNA is expanding its capabilities and strengthening its position in the region’s evolving energy market.
