Zagreb, 2 July 2026 – International business media outlet IntelliNews has published the article “Can Geothermal Power Central Europe’s Energy Transition?”, examining the potential of geothermal energy across Central Europe.

The article highlights examples from Poland and Lithuania to Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia.

Croatia’s significant geothermal potential was presented by Ivana Meašić, Managing Director of ENNA Geo. She discussed the experience and challenges involved in developing ENNA Group’s geothermal power plant projects, Zagocha and Babina Greda, as well as the advantages of geothermal energy as a constantly available renewable energy source.

“Today, more than ever, we recognise that clean, secure and import-independent energy is a key prerequisite for Europe’s economic resilience and security,” said Meašić.
