E-mobility and ENNA Charge

Date publishedOctober 29, 2026

Zagreb, 28 October 2026 – Karla Janeš Mesarić, Director of ENNA Charge and ENNA Power, took part in a panel discussion on electric mobility in Croatia at the Green Energy Fair, held at Arena Zagreb on 28 and 29 October. The panel also featured Tomislav Ivanetić, Business Development Director at Qelo, and Alen Žarković, Director of Hobaca.

The discussion focused on the development of Croatia’s electric vehicle market, the challenges of investing in charging infrastructure, and opportunities to further expand the charging network.

“As a group, we are both an electricity producer and supplier, with strong expertise in the energy sector. Expanding into electric vehicle charging infrastructure is therefore a logical next step in ENNA Group’s strategy to develop sustainable energy solutions. The energy transition and the decarbonisation of transport are creating a need for a reliable and accessible charging network, and this is where we see our role,” said Karla Janeš Mesarić in her opening remarks.

Speaking about the challenges facing investors, she highlighted high grid usage charges, which directly affect the cost of charging.

“To secure greater available power capacity and manage grid usage costs, we plan to install battery energy storage systems at all locations where this is feasible,” said Janeš Mesarić.

As she noted, ENNA Charge’s development strategy focuses on providing a reliable and user-friendly charging service, with locations that allow customers to fit charging into their daily routines or travel plans. The company plans to gradually expand its network along key transport routes and in urban areas across Croatia, including shopping centres and major transport hubs.

“Customer experience is extremely important to us because we want charging to be simple and straightforward for everyone. Under the law, all charging stations will be required to have POS terminals for payment from next year. This means you will not need a dedicated app or to register to pay – you will be able to pay just as you would in a shop. Our chargers already offer this option,” Janeš Mesarić concluded.
