Happy International Women's day

Zagreb, March 6, 2026 – On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we spoke with four exceptional colleagues whose knowledge, experience, and energy contribute to the growth and success of the ENNA Group.

Each of them works in a different field: Ana Soldo in logistics and transport, Ivana Meašić in geothermal power projects, Marijeta Majer in energy supply and innovative energy solutions, and Karla Janeš Mesarić in the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and large-scale battery storage projects.

Despite pursuing different career paths, they all agree that professional success requires initiative, the ability to recognize opportunities, and a willingness to adapt quickly.

These are also the values that guide us at the ENNA Group—whether in logistics and transport, renewable energy, or innovative energy solutions.

ANA SOLDO, President of the Management Board, ENNA Logic / ENNA Transport

What achievement in your career are you most proud of, and what did it teach you?

I am especially proud of successfully delivering a major project under extremely tight deadlines and high expectations while simultaneously implementing a new IT system. Clear communication, trust within the team, and the ability to adapt quickly to new processes and technologies were the key factors behind our success.

What initially began as resistance and skepticism toward the upcoming changes gradually transformed into proactivity, perseverance, consistency, and a genuine appreciation of both the short- and long-term benefits. This experience taught me that change forces us to confront our fears and insecurities, ultimately making us braver and more capable professionals. Above all, I learned that true team spirit makes an invaluable difference.

What makes your company unique?

Today, ENNA Transport and ENNA Logic are leading private railway transport companies in Croatia and neighbouring countries, with ownership stakes and concession agreements in key Adriatic ports, including the RGW container terminal and the Port of Ploče.

We provide uninterrupted service to our partners 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We connect and manage goods and processes that are essential to our clients’ businesses, always with maximum responsibility, rapid response, and flexibility. Operational excellence, reliability, and a tailored approach are our key competitive advantages. Our clients see us not only as a dependable service provider but as a trusted partner who understands their needs and works with them to find the best possible solutions.

What advice would you give your younger self at the beginning of your career?

I would tell my younger self to be bolder in embracing opportunities and more patient. Early in my career, I often hesitated because I doubted whether I was ready or experienced enough. Over time, however, I realized that real growth happens when we step outside our comfort zone.

Results do not come overnight—they are built through consistency, dedication, and perseverance. Daily effort, continuous learning, and maintaining integrity are ultimately far more valuable than any short-term success. The foundations we build today often bear fruit years later, and that is what truly makes a difference.

I would also encourage myself to surround myself with people I can learn from and to challenge established ways of thinking. That reflects both maturity and a genuine desire to grow. Finally, the best results are always achieved through teamwork.

MARIJETA MAJER, Director of Energy Projects, ENNA Next

What achievement in your career are you most proud of, and what did it teach you?

I am particularly proud of my decision to move to a new city to take on a new job. At that point, I had never worked in active sales and was unfamiliar with many of the products and services we offered. It was much more than a career move—it was a complete professional leap.

I took responsibility for a team of around ten people, sales performance, strategy, and business processes while adapting to a completely new environment. That decision taught me that stepping outside your comfort zone creates opportunities for personal and professional growth.

What makes your company unique?

ENNA Next offers a broad portfolio of products and services, ranging from traditional natural gas supply to virtual power plant solutions. Our ambition is to transform from a traditional energy supplier into a provider of comprehensive energy services.

What sets us apart is our ability to deliver smart energy solutions. We share our extensive expertise with clients, helping them become more energy independent through knowledge, guidance, and long-term partnership built on trust and continuous support.

What advice would you give your younger self at the beginning of your career?

Don't wait for the "perfect moment" because it simply doesn't exist. Learn to make decisions and take responsibility, even in imperfect circumstances—that is the only way to grow, both professionally and personally.

One thing I would never change, and one message I would share with everyone, is not to compare yourself too much with others. And above all, enjoy what you do, because true success means feeling fulfilled and genuinely satisfied.

KARLA JANEŠ MESARIĆ, Director, ENNA Charge / ENNA Power

What achievement in your career are you most proud of, and what did it teach you?

One of the defining moments in my career was leaving a secure, stable job—one I could easily have kept until retirement—to join what was then an unknown company and take a significant risk. It was a decision driven by a desire to learn more, grow, and help build something new, even at the cost of security.

On another occasion, I knowingly risked my own position by challenging my direct superior to point out irregularities. It was not an easy situation, but I genuinely cared about the project and the people on my team. I believed my responsibility toward the work and my colleagues was more important than protecting my own position.

These experiences taught me that such bold decisions are always worthwhile in the long run. The reward may not come immediately—or in the form you expect—but it does come, whether through personal growth, professional respect, or new opportunities. Courage in defining moments always pays off.

What makes your company unique?

At ENNA Power, we develop battery energy storage projects across Croatia and the wider region. This is still a relatively new technology in the Croatian energy sector, particularly given the complexity and slow pace of regulatory processes. As a result, there is limited local experience in developing and implementing such projects, making our work both challenging and highly promising.

One of my greatest strengths is international experience. I have worked with developers from around the world and had the opportunity to learn from more mature markets where battery storage systems are already standard practice. Through ENNA Next, we can also strategically connect projects and build a comprehensive, long-term energy ecosystem.

ENNA Charge is developing a nationwide network of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles. Our goal is not only to build infrastructure but also to drive a genuine, sustainable, long-term green transition. We plan to supply our charging network with renewable electricity, creating a fully integrated green mobility ecosystem—from clean energy generation to end use.

What advice would you give your younger self at the beginning of your career?

My advice to my younger self—and to every young person—is simple: don't be afraid. As long as you work with passion, honesty, and good judgment, your potential is limitless.

IVANA MEAŠIĆ, Director, ENNA Geo

What achievement in your career are you most proud of, and what did it teach you?

I am grateful that many of the people I have worked with throughout my career remain close to me today. We can laugh together about both the good times and the difficult moments, which often taught us the most.

I am proud to have built meaningful professional relationships, some of which have grown into lasting friendships. My experience has shown me that the strength of the team you work with is more important than anything else.

What makes your company unique?

ENNA Geo is a small but highly agile team of experts, and I believe that is our greatest strength. Our projects are ambitious, complex, and uncertain, but what motivates us is the opportunity to learn something new every day, solve challenges together, and never give up.

At the same time, we make sure we enjoy the journey. Geothermal energy is still at an early stage of development, and although many obstacles lie ahead, I am confident we will overcome them.

What advice would you give your younger self at the beginning of your career?

I would tell my younger self that change is the only constant in life. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you will enjoy everything life brings your way.

And perhaps even more importantly: you don't have to fit into every stereotype. One of life's greatest joys is realizing that you don't have to.
